Strong Spirit and Skill: Highlights from the Latest Dan Examination
The June 2025 Dan examination in Lausanne was conducted with professionalism, discipline, and a positive atmosphere.
Serving as examiners on the day were experts Abdenbi Amhand (Taekwondo Riviera Vevey), Mark Sandmeier (Kim Taekwondo Luzern/Ebikon), and Patrick Porqueddu (Ecole Kim Taekwondo Lausanne). Their presence and expertise added great value to the event.
This year’s test brought together candidates from six schools: Il Gi Dojang, Taekwondo Bern, Ecole Kim Taekwondo Lausanne, Kim Taekwondo Luzern/Ebikon, Kim Taekwondo Schaffhausen, and Master Taekwondo.
The candidates presented a wide range of performances. Several stood out with truly impressive displays of technique and spirit, and the overall level of commitment and preparation was high. 15 candidates (7 second Dan, 6 first Dan and 2 Poom) who took the test successfully passed, a testament to their dedication and the quality of instruction across our clubs.
A special mention goes to Chloé Thompson, who was named best performer of the day. At just 13 years old, Chloé impressed the expert panel not only with her technical proficiency, but also with her exceptional mindset. Her unwavering focus and full-hearted dedication to every part of the examination stood out as a model of Taekwondo attitude and maturity beyond her years.
The Dan test once again affirmed the strength of our community and the depth of talent rising through the ranks. Congratulations to all who participated!
Esprit fort et maîtrise : retour sur l’examen de Dan de juin 2025
L’examen de Dan de juin 2025 à Lausanne s’est déroulé dans une atmosphère professionnelle, disciplinée et positive.
Les experts Abdenbi Amhand (Taekwondo Riviera Vevey), Mark Sandmeier (Kim Taekwondo Luzern/Ebikon) et Patrick Porqueddu (École Kim Taekwondo Lausanne) ont officié en tant qu’examinateurs. Leur présence et leur expertise ont apporté une grande valeur à l’événement.
Cette année, l’examen a réuni des candidats issus de six écoles : Il Gi Dojang, Taekwondo Bern, École Kim Taekwondo Lausanne, Kim Taekwondo Luzern/Ebikon, Kim Taekwondo Schaffhausen et Master Taekwondo.
Les candidats ont présenté un éventail varié de prestations. Plusieurs se sont distingués par des démonstrations particulièrement impressionnantes de technique et d’esprit martial. Le niveau d’engagement et de préparation était élevé. 15 candidats (7 pour le 2e Dan, 6 pour le 1er Dan et 2 pour le Poom) ont réussi l’examen, preuve de leur dévouement et de la qualité de l’enseignement dispensé dans nos clubs.
Une mention spéciale revient à Chloé Thompson, désignée meilleure candidate de la journée. Âgée de seulement 13 ans, Chloé a impressionné le jury non seulement par ses compétences techniques, mais surtout par son attitude remarquable. Sa concentration sans faille et son engagement total tout au long de l’examen sont un véritable exemple de l’esprit du Taekwondo et d’une maturité exceptionnelle pour son âge. Une fois de plus, l’examen de Dan a confirmé la force de notre communauté et la richesse des talents qui émergent dans nos rangs. Félicitations à toutes les personnes ayant pris part à cette journée!
International Participation and Prestige at E2 and Prime Poomsae Competitions
The recent E2 and Prime Poomsae competitions were a true celebration of international Taekwondo spirit and excellence.

Officials and Referees
A team of 38 referees ensured fairness and professionalism across both events. Among them were 29 International Referees, representing 15 different countries—a testament to the global credibility of these tournaments.
Special Guests
We had the honor of welcoming Master Kwang Gil Han and Prof. Kim from Gwangju University, Korea, along with their delegation. Their team of 10 athletes delivered outstanding performances, ultimately winning 1st Place in the Senior Team Division—a highlight that added exceptional prestige to the event.

Invités d’honneur
Nous avons eu l’honneur d’accueillir Maître Kwang Gil Han et le Professeur Kim de l’Université de Gwangju (Corée), accompagnés de leur délégation. Leur équipe composée de 10 athlètes a brillé en remportant la 1re place dans la catégorie Senior Team, apportant un prestige tout particulier à l’événement.
Talent Treff Tenero: Swiss Taekwondo Represented by Ten Athletes
A ten-member delegation from Swiss Taekwondo participated in the Talent Treff event held in Tenero. After an intense competition weekend, the event offered diverse and valuable insights for our young athletes.
Organized by Swiss Olympic, the gathering brought together around 400 participants from a variety of sports. Besides Taekwondo-specific training, athletes had the opportunity to interact with peers from Karate and Boxing.
Workshops on important topics such as anti-doping, social media, sports psychology, and recovery were also part of the program—crucial elements for holistic athlete development.
This multifaceted event supports not only athletic but also personal growth and fosters a spirit of collaboration across different sports disciplines.
Talent Treff Tenero : Une délégation de dix athlètes suisses
Notre jeune délégation de Taekwondo était représentée par dix athlètes lors du Talent Treff à Tenero. Après un week-end de compétitions intense, l’événement a offert des apports variés et enrichissants pour nos jeunes talents.
Organisé par Swiss Olympic, le rassemblement a réuni environ 400 participants issus de nombreuses disciplines sportives. En plus d’un entraînement spécifique au Taekwondo, les athlètes ont pu échanger avec leurs homologues du Karaté et de la Boxe.
Des ateliers ont également été proposés sur des thèmes essentiels tels que l’antidopage, les réseaux sociaux, la psychologie du sport et la récupération — des éléments clés pour un développement global de l’athlète.
Cette offre diversifiée favorise non seulement la progression sportive mais aussi l’épanouissement personnel de nos jeunes, tout en renforçant l’esprit d’équipe au-delà des disciplines.

L’équipe nationale suisse de Kyorugi aux Championnats du Monde Cadets 2025 à Fujairah
Du 10 au 14 mai 2025, l’équipe nationale suisse de Kyorugi a fièrement représenté la Suisse aux Championnats du Monde Cadets organisés à Fujairah, aux Émirats arabes unis. Cet événement prestigieux a réuni les jeunes athlètes les plus talentueux du monde pour cinq jours de compétition au plus haut niveau.
La délégation suisse était composée de Melin Öztekin, Kadhem Hafaz, Kubilay Kaan Üzmez et Hosseyn Hafaz, qui ont concouru avec courage et détermination sur la scène mondiale.
Pour l’équipe suisse, cette participation a représenté une étape importante, apportant une expérience internationale précieuse et la possibilité de se mesurer à l’élite mondiale.
Nous saluons l’engagement, la discipline et l’esprit d’équipe de nos athlètes et de leurs entraîneurs. Leur présence illustre le développement continu du Taekwondo suisse sur la scène internationale.
Swiss Poomsae Team News: Beach Tournament in Portugal and G1 in Vienna
The Swiss Poomsae Team has an exciting summer ahead!
On 21 June, the team will participate for the first time in a Beach Taekwondo Tournament in Nazaré, Portugal. This unique event is by invitation only, bringing together national teams from selected countries—and we are honoured to represent Switzerland on the sand!
Just a week later, on 28–29 June, the team will compete at the G1 Poomsae Tournament in Vienna, Austria. As part of the international competition calendar, this G1 event offers another valuable opportunity for our athletes to gain experience and showcase their skills on the European stage.
We wish our Poomsae athletes the best of luck for both events!
Équipe suisse de Poomsae : Tournoi de plage au Portugal et G1 à Vienne
Un été plein de défis passionnants attend notre équipe nationale !
Le 21 juin, l’équipe suisse de Poomsae participera pour la première fois à un tournoi de Taekwondo sur la plage à Nazaré, au Portugal. Cet événement exclusif est réservé aux équipes nationales invitées. C’est un honneur de représenter la Suisse dans ce cadre unique en bord de mer !
Une semaine plus tard, les 28 et 29 juin, l’équipe participera au tournoi G1 de Poomsae à Vienne, en Autriche. Ce tournoi international constitue une excellente opportunité pour nos athlètes de se mesurer à des concurrents européens et de progresser au niveau mondial.
