GCS International unterzeichnete am 15. Juli 2021 im WT-Hauptquartier in Seoul eine Kooperationsvereinbarung mit der World Children Taekwondo Union (World CTU) zur Förderung des Weltfriedens durch die GCS-Bewegung und Taekwondo.
Im Rahmen der Vereinbarung werden die beiden Organisationen zusammenarbeiten, um gemeinsam Bildungs-, Kultur-, Dienstleistungs- und Sportprojekte und Veranstaltungen im Zusammenhang mit der GCS-Bewegung und dem Taekwondo zu organisieren, die auf gegenseitigem Respekt und Vertrauen basieren.
Die beiden Seiten vereinbarten außerdem, den Erlös der oben genannten Veranstaltungen zur Unterstützung von Bedürftigen und Flüchtlingen in Entwicklungsländern zu verwenden.
An der Unterzeichnungszeremonie, die im Konferenzraum von WT im Zentrum von Seoul stattfand, nahmen teil der Präsident von GCS International und World Taekwondo, Dr. Chungwon Choue; Dr. Park Soo-nam, Präsident der World CTU; Prof. Kim do-kyun, Vorstandsmitglied von GCS International; Herr Lee Dong-sup, Co-Präsident des GCS International Macao, China Chapter; und Dr. Seok-jae Kang, Generalsekretär von GCS International.
Dr. Choue sagte in seiner Rede während der Unterzeichnungszeremonie: „Ich wünsche mir, dass die Mitglieder der World Children Taekwondo Union durch diese Unterzeichnung des MOU die GCS-Bewegung und die Bedeutung von Weltfrieden und Dienst an der Menschheit besser verstehen. Ich hoffe, dass die beiden Seiten viel dazu beitragen werden, die Machtlosen und Flüchtlinge auf der ganzen Welt zu stärken.“
Dr. Park sagte: „Ich freue mich, eine Absichtserklärung mit GCS International unter der Leitung von Dr. Choue zu unterzeichnen, und die World CTU wird ihr Möglichstes tun, um Taekwondo für Kinder und den Weltfrieden zu fördern.“
Mit einer weltweiten Mitgliedschaft von etwa 80 Ländern wurde GCS International 1979 in Seoul, Korea, vom verstorbenen Dr. Choue Young Seek, dem Gründer der Kyung Hee University und dem Ausrufer des Internationalen Friedenstages der Vereinten Nationen, gegründet. Seit 2006 ist Dr. Chungwon Choue Präsident von GCS International.
Die World Children Taekwondo Union wurde 2010 in Deutschland von Dr. Park Soo-nam ins Leben gerufen und hat weltweit 55 Mitglieder.
GCS International Signs MOU with World Children Taekwondo Union on Promotion of World Peace
GCS International signed a cooperation agreement with the World Children Taekwondo Union (World CTU) on the promotion of world peace through the GCS movement and taekwondo at the WT headquarters in Seoul on July 15, 2021.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate to jointly organize educational, cultural, service and sporting business projects and events related to the GCS movement and taekwondo, based on mutual respect and trust.
The two sides also agreed to use proceeds from the above events to help support those in need and refugees in developing countries.
The signing ceremony, which took place at the conference room of WT in downtown Seoul, drew GCS International and World Taekwondo President Dr. Chungwon Choue; Dr. Park Soo-nam, president of the World CTU; Prof. Kim do-kyun, a board member of GCS International; Mr. Lee Dong-sup, co-president of the GCS International Macao, China Chapter; and Dr. Seok-jae Kang, secretary general of GCS International.
Dr. Choue said in his speech during the signing ceremony, “through this MOU signing, I wish the members of the World Children Taekwondo Union will better understand the GCS movement and the importance of world peace and service to mankind. I hope the two sides will be of much help to empower the powerless and refugees around the world.”
Dr. Park said, “I am pleased to sign a memorandum of understanding with GCS International, headed by Dr. Choue, and the World CTU will do its utmost to help promote children taekwondo and world peace.”
With a global membership of about 80 countries, GCS International was established in 1979 in Seoul, Korea by the late Dr. Choue Young Seek, the founder of Kyung Hee University and the proclaimer of the U.N. International Day of Peace. Since 2006, Dr. Chungwon Choue has served as president of GCS International.
The World Children Taekwondo Union was launched in 2010 in Germany by Dr. Park Soo-nam and has a global membership of 55 countries.
